An award and a tag!

Its raining tags at this place. And this time around, the tag has a freebie in the form an AWARD! That’s right.

Now, for 7 random things about myself -

- I detest make-up and flashy accessories. Totally. My wedding was the only time I wore make up et all, much to the horror of the CH, who still says he married a witchy-wrong-person. And the only accessories that are lucky enough to adorn me are the ear-studs (any form of dangling-earrings strictly prohibited) and a thin chain which has only one thirumangalyam attached to it, which was secretly made to order by Amma and me much after my wedding, to replace the thick dog-chain types that my MIL favoured.

- I drink very little water. Some one has to keep reminding me to drink water. Otherwise, I can go without water for hours together. It is a task everyday for me to empty the 500ml bottle at my workplace.

- I know the tiny bit of details of every movie and film-star in the Tamizh film world. But then, I don’t watch any of the newest releases. The last movie I watched in theatre was ‘Sivaji-The boss’. I am ancient like that!

- If there is a cricket match that is played by India, the first thing that I do on coming to office is to open the ‘Cricinfo – Live Scores’ tab. Any sport would be such a rage during my spinster days with the deadly combo of Appa-bro-me giving hard times to Amma. But now, although the mother in me is gradually eating up the die-hard cricket statistician in me, the latter is not willing to give up so easily. Hence the lame internet-tab attempt.

- I am a silent yet regular lurker on Twitter.

- I am not the cleanliness freak that I think I am. I can live with a bit of clutter here and there. It was always Amma who did the cleaning of my messy room during my childhood days. These days, as I have no other choice (read as, the CH being the laziest creature on Earth, who can live amidst any kind of debris) I tend to act like an organised person.

- I have great inhibitions in tasting new cuisine. It is only after knowing the CH and his endless persuasion at trying new stuff do I dare to taste varied dishes. Slowly, I am trying to even experiment cooking them.

Phew. Done. Now, for the nominations…

A lot of the bloggers who I read have already been tagged and awarded. As the award is about versatility, I would want to pass this on to someone who writes so succinctly about a varied topics.

From adoption to corruption to world issues to kiddisms to parenting attitudes, she does a wonderful job with her free flow of words. She is truly versatile. This one is for you, Sangi, whose blog is called the ‘The Life and Times in Bangalore’. Thanks for all the inspiration. Keep rocking, lady!
